Paying off a Greenline loan early: how much you can save

EDITORIAL TEAM Reviewed by the Greenline Loans Cash Editorial Team · Updated October 16, 2026 · 5 min read

On a loan priced at 300% APR or more, interest builds fast, which also means paying early saves a lot. The examples below use the same standard amortization formula as our calculator, so you can see roughly what an early payoff is worth.

Estimates, not quotes

These figures assume simple monthly amortization with no prepayment fee. Your actual payoff amount depends on your agreement, payment dates and how interest is calculated. Always ask the lender for an exact payoff quote.

Worked examples

$500 at 400% APR over 6 months

Monthly payment about $203. Full-term total about $1,217.

Pay off in fullTotal you payYou save
After 1 payment$667$550
After 2 payments$821$395
After 3 payments$960$257
Full term$1,217$0

$1,000 at 350% APR over 8 months

Monthly payment about $335. Full-term total about $2,679.

Pay off in fullTotal you payYou save
After 1 payment$1,292$1,387
After 2 payments$1,571$1,108
After 3 payments$1,834$846
Full term$2,679$-0

The pattern is the same at any amount: the earlier you pay, the more you save, because most of each early payment goes to interest rather than principal.

How to pay off early

  1. Ask for a written payoff quote

Contact customer service at (877) 596-1337, [email protected], or through live chat in your account. Ask for the exact amount and the date it's valid until.

  2. Confirm there's no prepayment fee

Check your loan agreement and ask the lender to confirm in writing.

  3. Pay before the next scheduled draw

Paying just after a scheduled payment can mean you pay one extra installment of interest. Time your payoff before the next draw date.

  4. Get a paid-in-full confirmation

Save it, then check that automatic payments stop and your account shows a zero balance.

Just borrowed? Check the cancellation window first

If you received the money within the last business day, cancelling may be cheaper than paying off. See our cancellation guide.
